Mission 12, Harbor 8--Richard Avalos hit a three-run homer to lead visiting Mission (9-1) to its ninth straight win.
Ventura, Valley and Antelope Valley colleges are among 16 teams in the junior college women’s basketball South regional pairings.
The 32-team playoffs, split into North and South regionals, will start with first-round games at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The four survivors from each regional move to the final eight, set for March 4-6 at Ventura College.
Ventura (24-4), seeded second behind Orange Empire Conference champion Golden West, will play host to Foothill Conference runner-up College of the Desert (14-12).
Fifth-seeded Valley (29-4), the WSC South Division champion with a 10-0 mark, will open at home against 12th-seeded Santa Barbara City (16-13).
No. 16 Antelope Valley (16-12) will travel to Golden West (32-2).
