COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Azusa Pacific Women End SCC’s Season

Rolynn Rienstra scored 22 points to lead Azusa Pacific to a 77-67 victory over Southern California College in an NAIA District 3 women’s basketball playoff game Monday in Azusa.

Tina Demarsh scored 22 points, including five three-pointers, and Jamie Zitterkopf added 18 points and 13 rebounds for SCC, which finished 14-14.

Tesa Stegmiller had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Azusa Pacific, which advanced to to play Fresno Pacific in a 5:30 p.m. semifinal Wednesday at Christ College Irvine. CCI will play Biola in the second semifinal at 7:30 p.m.

In nonconference baseball:

UCLA 5, Chapman 3--UCLA rallied for two runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth for the victory at Hart Park in Orange. Octavio Medina had two hits and a run batted in and Ben Mendoza had a hit and an RBI for Chapman (5-7), which scored single runs in the first, second and fourth. UCLA defeated Chapman, 7-5, Sunday at UCLA.
