No. 2 Crenshaw 115, Van Nuys 49--Four players scored in double figures for the Cougars (21-2) in a City 4-A game at Crenshaw. Junior center Kristaan Johnson finished with a game-high 30 points and junior forward Tremaine Fowlkes added 21. Crenshaw took control in the second quarter, building a 51-24 halftime lead.

No. 7 North Hollywood 94, Woodland Hills Taft 54--The Huskies (25-1) jumped to a 21-0 lead en route to a City 4-A victory at North Hollywood. Taft (11-10) trailed, 46-16, at halftime. Sophomore guard Arthur Lee led North Hollywood with 20 points.

Fremont 70, No. 15 Manual Arts 59--Tommie Davis led the Pathfinders (18-7) with 21 points in a City 4-A game at Manual Arts (20-7). Leslie Bean and Calvin Patterson added 16 and 13 points, respectively, for Fremont, last year’s City 3-A champion.

Lincoln 56, Bell 52--Senior guard Ruben Castellanos led the Tigers (20-4) with 15 points in a City 3-A game at East Los Angeles College. Keith Whitner added 13 for Lincoln.

Garfield 55, Van Nuys Birmingham 52--Senior forward Alex Gomez led the Bulldogs (16-10) with 30 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots in a City 3-A game at Garfield. Birmingham is 17-9.

Gardena 63, Reseda 53--Senior forward Jermaine Long scored a team-high 16 points as the Mohicans (10-11) won a City 3-A game at Gardena. Reseda is 7-12.

GIRLS

No. 7 Crenshaw 103, Franklin 28--Senior guard Michele Keyes led the Cougars (21-2) with 29 points in a City 4-A first-round game at Crenshaw. Junior guard Cathleen Grice added 20 points for Crenshaw. Franklin is 9-6.

North Hollywood 58, El Camino Real 37--Sophomore Anna Celaya scored 15 of her 17 points in the first half to lead the Huskies (19-6) to a City 4-A victory at North Hollywood.

Darvena Merritt added 17 points and 10 rebounds for North Hollywood, which has won 12 of its last 13 games. Jessica Dinaberg led El Camino Real (10-8) with 10 points.

Washington 49, Carson 48--Center Mercedes Edwards made a basket and and a free throw with 10 seconds to play to put the Generals (10-14) ahead by four points in City 4-A game at Carson. The Colts closed the gap to one point, but Washington regained possession with seven seconds to play and ran out the clock.

Roosevelt 75, Westchester 45--Junior guard Denise Caudillo scored 24 points and Liz Guevara added 13 as the Roughriders (16-5) won a City 4-A game at Roosevelt.

Ridgecrest Burroughs 48, West Torrance 46--Jenny Bates was fouled at the buzzer and made two free throws to lift the Burros (17-6) to a Southern Section Division II-A second-round playoff victory at Ridgecrest. Bates, a senior guard, finished with 11 steals and six points.
