HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : Fillmore’s Arundell Notches 2nd Consecutive No-Hitter

Senior right-hander Jamie Arundell threw her second no-hitter in as many starts to lead Fillmore High to a 5-0 nonleague softball victory over visiting Santa Paula on Tuesday.
Arundell (2-0), who threw a no-hitter Friday against Nordhoff, was two for three at the plate with a double.
Crescenta Valley 11, Burbank 0--Sophomore Danielle Robertshaw allowed only one Burbank player to reach base while pitching a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts for visiting Crescenta Valley in a nonleague game.
Tricia Beer was three for four, including a triple, and two runs batted in. Stephanie Kanzler was two for three.
Reseda 11, Westchester 1--Krystal Watches’ two-run homer and Rosie Yeatts’ six-strikeout, no-hit pitching through three innings sparked the Regents past Westchester in a nonleague game.
Chatsworth 8, Roosevelt 5--Jennifer Stern was two for four, including a triple and a home run, and had two runs batted in in a nonleague game at Roosevelt.
Hoover 2, Royal 2 (9 innings)--Hoover’s Nancy Evans had 15 strikeouts, giving her 45 in three games, in a contest that was called because of darkness in the ninth inning.
Royal scored twice in the seventh inning to tie the score and force extra innings.
Burroughs 2, Notre Dame 0--Gina Punaro and Kristina Bullock each drove in a run in the fifth inning for host Burroughs (2-1).
Christy Russell (1-0) earned the win.
