PREP SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : San Clemente’s Tolmassoff Stymies Dana Hills, 5-0

Nicolana Tolmassoff pitched a one-hitter in San Clemente’s 5-0 victory over Dana Hills in a South Coast League game Friday at San Clemente.

Tolmassoff struck out eight and had two hits and an RBI for San Clemente (8-8, 5-1). Heather Hollis had a hit and drove in two runs for the Tritons.

In other South Coast League games:

Mission Viejo 4, Capistrano Valley 2--Courtney Kerley had three hits and an RBI for Mission Viejo (11-12, 4-2). Stacey Henderson hit a two-run homer in the sixth for Capistrano Valley (8-10, 2-4).

Mater Dei 8, El Toro 0--Jennifer Clark pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts for host Mater Dei (13-2, 6-0) at Harvard Park in Irvine. Clark also had two hits, scored a run and drove in one. Candice Kollen had two hits and scored a run also for Mater Dei.

In the Sunset League:

Ocean View 4, Huntington Beach 1--Kathy Ponce (11-1) pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts for host Ocean View (16-5, 8-2). Rocky Willson drove in a run in the first with a squeeze bunt. Angela Burke drove in two runs in the sixth for Ocean View.

Fountain Valley 3, Edison 1--Deborah Harrelson had eight strikeouts for Fountain Valley (15-5, 8-2).

Marina 3, Santa Ana 0--Marcy Crouch pitched a one-hitter, striking out eight, for the host Vikings (17-2, 9-0), the top-ranked team in the county. Crouch (10-1) allowed only a two-out single in the third inning. She did not walk a batter. Crouch also had two doubles and a run batted in.

In the Academy League:

Liberty Christian 13, South Gate Southeast Lutheran 3 (6 innings, mercy rule)--Melissa Tedisco had three RBIs and scored two runs for Liberty Christian (8-5, 4-0). Jean Craven had 13 strikeouts for the Minutemen.

In the Arrowhead League:

Southern California Christian 12, Sherman Indian 0 (5 innings, mercy rule)--Second baseman Angie Fetters went three for three with an RBI and two runs scored. Candle Silva (6-1) pitched her third no-hitter of the season, striking out 13 for Southern California (13-2, 6-1). Sherman Indian is 12-4, 5-3.
