Marc Goellner, a local favorite, upset fifth-seeded Michael Chang, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3, in the second round of the German Open on Tuesday at Hamburg.
Goellner used a powerful forehand and moral support from an army of fans among the 10,000 spectators.
