In the Sea View League meet:

Corona del Mar boys, Irvine girls win--For Corona del Mar’s swimming Coach Mike Starkweather, the boys’ first-place finish was one of the sweetest victories in his coaching career.

“Since they (Woodbridge) beat us badly in a dual meet this year, our guys wanted revenge,” Starkweather said. “We were ready to swim today.”

And swim they did, chalking up 550 1/2 points to Woodbridge’s 488, with Irvine third at 334.
