Catfish Are Being Caught in Southland

As summer heats up Southland reservoirs, more attention turns to catfish, and sure enough, the rubber-skinned whiskerfish are beginning to cooperate.
The largest fish, a 34-pound 4-ounce catfish, was pulled from Riverside County’s Lake Skinner by Mikael Johnson of Wilmington. Eric and Jeff Aust of Lakewood, while fishing Irvine Lake, filled their stringer with 10 fish totaling 46 pounds.
