Culver City High Promotes Assistant Rob Moore to Coach Football Team

Share

Rob Moore has been named to replace Lou Lichtl as football coach at Culver City High.

Moore, 33, has been an assistant at the school for the past five years. He is a former receiver and defensive back who competed at Hamilton High, Pierce College and Oklahoma State.

The Centaurs return running backs Chris Ellison and Aki Wilson and are expected to be a contender for the Ocean League title.

“I feel this is the strongest team at Culver City since I’ve been around,” Moore said. “Defenses will not be able to key on one player because we have so much talent.”

Moore’s brother, Kevin, will be the defensive coordinator and Cornell Mailes will be an assistant in charge of linebackers.

Dave Tankenson, a longtime assistant, will coach the offensive and defensive lines.
