PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Skrepenak to Start Against 49ers
Greg Skrepenak will start at left offensive tackle against the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s exhibition game at Stanford Stadium. Skrepenak, the Raiders’ second-round draft choice in 1992, will replace Gerald Perry, who will not play because of an injured tricep. Skrepenak played guard and tackle as a backup last season, but had been working only as a guard in training camp.
“He’s played both positions for us, so it was an easy move,” Coach Art Shell said. “The more different things you can do makes you that more valuable to your team.”

The Raiders have have a long list of players who have missed practice time because of injuries: offensive tackles Steve Wright (shoulder), Ben Jefferson (foot) and Perry (tricep); offensive guards Steve Wisniewski (back) and Rich Stephens (groin); linebacker Winston Moss (knee); defensive end Greg Townsend (knee); running back Tyrone Montgomery (leg), and safety Derrick Hoskins (knee).

For the third consecutive day, Eric Noland of the Los Angeles Daily News was banned from the Raider practice field in Oxnard despite continuing protests by the Daily News, the Pro Football Writers of America and the Associated Press Sports Editors.
