Warren Moon threw two touchdown passes and Al Del Greco kicked three field goals as the Houston Oilers defeated the Dallas Cowboys, 23-20, before 63,285 in the new Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday.

The Cowboys’ Troy Aikman, getting his first action after back surgery this summer, completed 12 of 17 passes for 141 yards.

Rick Mirer passed for two first-half touchdowns in his first NFL start to lead the Seattle Seahawks to a 30-0 victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Seattle.

Mirer, the second player chosen in April’s draft, completed six of 12 passes for 87 yards.

Anthony McDowell scored twice on one-yard runs as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played their defensive starters most of the way in a 32-12 victory over a Buffalo Bill team that mostly used reserves at Orlando, Fla.

Rookie fullback Kenyon Rasheed scored from three yards on a third-down draw with 24 seconds to play to give the New York Giants a 14-13 victory over the New York Jets at East Rutherford, N.J.

Jeff Sydner returned a kickoff 94 yards to set up Casey Weldon’s five-yard pass to Aaron Emanuel for the go-ahead touchdown with five minutes to play in the Philadelphia Eagles’ 37-20 victory over the Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia. The Eagles added two one-yard scoring runs by Markus Thomas in the last three minutes.

Backup quarterback Dave Krieg drove Kansas City 99 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown as the Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 27-20, at Kansas City. Joe Montana completed 12 of 16 passes for 101 yards in the first half, leading two Chief scoring drives for a 10-0 lead.

Stan Humphries threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Shawn Jefferson for the game’s only touchdown and the San Diego Chargers defeated the Phoenix Cardinals, 10-3, at San Diego.
