Lenny Holly, the Southwest Conference freshman player of the year last season, has transferred from Texas Tech to New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, N.M.

Holly, a 6-foot-5 guard, was academically eligible to play with the Red Raiders.

Billy Knight, the Indiana Pacers’ top career scorer, has been promoted from assistant coach to the team’s director of player personnel. The Pacers also hired Billy King as an assistant coach. King, 27, helped lead Duke to a 112-27 record in four seasons as a player ending in 1988.
