Hart to Face Pasadena in Football Opener

Share

Defending Foothill League champion Hart High knows not what to expect from its opponent in its football opener against Pasadena High tonight. But the Indians will show and bring their run-and-shoot offense.

“We have no clue about Pasadena other than they have a new coach (former Pasadena City College assistant Jack Loos),” said Hart assistant Dean Herrington. “We don’t know what they’ll do offensively or defensively.”

The Bulldogs (4-6 last season) are potentially explosive on offense, with Chris McAlister, son of former UCLA standout James McAlister, at running back and Lester Townes at quarterback.

Hart (11-1) will be without two starters on offense for the 7 p.m. game that has been moved to Temple City High.

Receiver Cameron Perry is out with a chipped bone in his hip. Junior center Eric Sohne is out for the season with torn knee ligaments. Sohne will be replaced by senior Brett Van Houghton.
