Bolsa Grande 27, Whittier Christian 0--Bolsa Grande defensive end Anthony Gomez intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble for the Matadors (1-1) at Whittier College. Whittier Christian is 0-1-1.
Gomez’s interception led to Love Jefferson’s five-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
He then recovered a fumble just before the third quarter ended. Two plays later, Brian Bauhman passed 22 yards to David Ross for the score. Bauhman hit Eric Shaner from 18 yards for Bolsa Grande’s final score.
The Matadors’ other score was set up by a Dan Thompson fumble recovery in the third quarter. Hae Sung scored on the next play from 18 yards.
Bolsa Grande was held to one yard in the first half.
Whittier Christian was paced by Bobby Duran’s 63 yards in 15 carries.
