Laguna Beach, Sr.

Football / Quarterback

Wood, who passed for more than 2,000 yards last season, is not passing as often this year because he now leads an option attack. But when Estancia neutralized the run, Wood took to the air and completed 14 of 19 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-27 victory, the Artists’ first in the league since 1989. Wood also returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and played some safety. “Everyone’s been bugging me to use him on kickoffs,” Coach Mike Roche said. “I’ve been hesitant, but now it’s league and there’s no reason to hold back.”
