Peninsula Girls Romp Past Corona del Mar

The Peninsula girls’ tennis team ran its consecutive match winning streak to 71 with a 15-3 victory over Corona del Mar in a Southern Section Division I semifinal match on Thursday.
In Division IV, Valencia of Placentia ended second-seeded Chadwick’s title hopes. Although the semifinal match ended with the teams tied, 9-9, Valencia won on games, 72-71.
The Torrance High girls’ volleyball team beat Canyon of Canyon Country, 15-7, 15-10, 15-8, to advance to the Division III final against Saugus at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Cerritos College.
