OUTLOOK

Despite the loss of four starters from last year’s league, Southern Section Division III-A and Southern California Division III championship team, it’s not a rebuilding year at Costa Mesa. Reloading is more like it. The Mustangs, runners-up in State Division III, lost school career scoring leader Olivia DiCamilli, but have Robinson and a number of talented players ready to step up. Robinson, who signed a letter of intent with Miami earlier this month, is one of the top players in the county. “All the coaches know how good Heather is, but now we’re going to be able to spotlight her this year so everyone can see,” said McNamee, in her second year with the Mustangs. “She can do everything and she’s only going to get better because I haven’t seen anyone who works harder in practice.” Do, the team’s top reserve last season, steps into the shooting guard spot, and Banua brings inside offense and defense. Vega is the team’s best zone-breaker from the perimeter, while Kim could handle point guard as a freshman.
