Keri Phebus and Susan Starrett of UCLA defeated Amelia White and Kelly Spencer of UC Santa Barbara, 6-1, 6-4, to win the women’s doubles title of the Freedom Bowl Intercollegiate Tennis Classic. Phebus, a former Corona del Mar standout, and Starrett beat Christa Hanson and Amanda Gomez of Cal State Fullerton, 6-0, 6-1, in the semifinals. David Roditi, a former San Clemente High player from Texas Christian, beat Rafael Huerta of Cal Poly Ca Luis Obispo, 6-4, 6-4, in a men’s singles semifinal and will play teammate Devin Bowen in the final at 10 a.m. today at Sunny Hills Racquet Club in Fullerton.
