1994 Prep Golf: Six Teams to Watch : Servite

1992-93: 13-5, 8-4 in the Sunset League; finished eighth in the Southern Section team finals.

Outlook: Servite, which finished third in the Sunset League, was the surprise of the postseason, finishing third in the Southern Regional to advance to the Southern Section team final. The Friars’ top three players, McGraw, Lauder and Luciano, are back and Ebbe says Barnett, a freshman with a four handicap, should move into the No. 4 position. The remaining two spots are up for grabs; Ebbe said three freshmen could make the lineup. Regardless, Ebbe said, the Friars won’t sneak up on anyone because of their late-season success last year. “I think we did establish ourselves and give ourselves some credibility,” Ebbe said. “I don’t think anybody is going to take us lightly again.”
