New Mexico Highlands Signs 2 From Ventura

Janine Laubacher and Judi Gamboa of Ventura College have signed national letters of intent to play volleyball for New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M.

Laubacher, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, and Gamboa, a 5-6 setter, were All-Western State Conference selections.

Gamboa, the Pirates’ most valuable player, was second in the conference in assists and fifth in service aces. Laubacher was third in kills, fourth in service aces and 12th in hitting percentage.
