Outlook: The comeback story of the track season last year took place at Mission Viejo. Gerule’s squad finished the dual-meet season a disappointing 2-3, but stormed back less than two weeks later to edge Capistrano Valley and Mater Dei to win the South Coast League finals. Morgan, a Times Orange County second-team selection in cross-country, finished second in the 1600 at the league finals a year ago. Galaviz is the league’s leading returner in the 100- and 200-meter races. Spani won the frosh/soph league title in the throwing events a year ago, and Wolf will give the Diablos a legitimate 400-meter runner.
