PREP NOTES : Cazett Steps Down as Girls’ Basketball Coach at Foothill

Dean Cazett has resigned as Foothill High girls’ basketball coach because of time constraints.

Cazett coached the Knights for two years. They were 6-17 this season after going 1-20 in 1992-93.

Brea-Olinda’s Southern California Division III girls’ championship game Saturday will be broadcast on KMNY 1600 AM.

Brea will play Newport Harbor at 9:30 a.m. at Anaheim Arena. The broadcast will begin at 10 a.m. on a 30-minute tape delay.

Bobby Bruch, who led Marina to its second consecutive Division I girls’ soccer title, will coach the North team in the Orange County all-star game March 23 at Chapman University.

Mater Dei’s Michelle Myers will coach the South team. The game is sponsored by the county’s girls’ soccer coaches association and will feature seniors from teams with a coach who is a member of the organization.
