PETER VAN DE VEN Goalkeeper Mater Dei, Sr. He helped lead the Monarchs to the Division II title by recording a county-high 16 shutouts. Van De Ven was first-team All-South Coast League selection for second consecutive year.

OSCAR CISNEROS Defender Saddleback, Sr. He scored five goals this season and was the main reason Saddleback recorded seven league shutouts and never allowed more than two goals. Over four years, he held Jason Boyce scoreless.

DAN JUDKINS Defender Marina, Sr. Named the Sunset League’s MVP, Judkins scored nine goals and had 10 assists while playing sweeper. He was also a first-team All-Southern Section pick for the third year in a row.

ERIC OLSEN Defender Corona del Mar, Sr. Named MVP of the Sea View League, Olsen scored 15 goals and had three assists from the sweeper position. He helped lead the Sea Kings to the Sea View League championship.

JOHN BAMFORD Midfielder Santa Margarita, Sr. A second-team Times’ all-county selection last year, Bamford was moved from defense midway through the season to help the Eagles’ offense. He responded with seven goals and five assists.

CHRIS FERNANDEZ Midfielder Sonora, Sr. A two-time Times’ all-county selection, Fernandez scored 20 goals and had 13 assists for Sonora, which reached the second round of the Division IV playoffs before losing to El Monte.

RICKY LE Midfielder El Toro, Sr. He scored 16 goals and had 16 assists for El Toro, which reached the second round in the Division II playoffs before losing to Esperanza. Le was also a first-team All-South Coast League selection.

MARK ALLEMAN Forward Esperanza, Sr. He was instrumental in Esperanza’s two consecutive section finals appearances. A two-time All-Empire League selection, Alleman scored 19 goals and recorded 20 assists for the Aztecs.

JASON BOYCE Forward Corona del Mar, Sr. Named to the under-20 U.S. Select team before the start of the season, Boyce scored 22 goals and had 12 assists this year. This is his second consecutive appearance on The Times’ first team.

SETH GEORGE Forward Santa Margarita, Jr. A first-team All-Sea View League selection for the second year, George scored 21 goals and had five assists for the Eagles, who reached the Division IV semifinals before losing to Riverside Poly.

KEVIN QUIGLEY Forward Mater Dei, Sr. He scored 23 goals and had 14 assists for the section champion Monarchs and was at his best in the playoffs. In the semifinals and finals, Quigley had two goals and three assists.

THE SECOND TEAM

Sean Bartko: Goalkeeper Villa Park, Jr. Had eight shutouts and led his team to the playoffs.

Humberto Barrerra: Defender Santa Ana, Sr. A first-team All-Sunset League selection.

Oscar Lara: Defender Santa Ana Valley, Sr. Scored four goals and had five assists.

Pat Lee: Defender Los Alamitos, Sr. Named defensive MVP of the Empire League.

Francisco Islas: Midfielder Santa Ana Valley, Jr. Scored 17 goals despite missing six games.

Zack Matthews: Midfielder Tustin, Sr. A first team All-Sea View League pick for second time.

Andres Morgante: Midfielder Dana Hills, Sr. Scored 13 goals and had seven assists.

Francisco Lagunas: Forward Santa Ana, Sr. Named offensive MVP of the Sunset League.

Jose Monroy: Forward Marina, Sr. Scored 10 goals and had seven assists.

Mike Morales: Forward Esperanza, Sr. Scored nine goals and had 10 assists.

Steve Patterson: Forward Foothill, Sr. Scored 15 goals and had five assists.
