Harvard-Westlake’s Donester Will Play Football at Princeton; Sebree to Colorado

Several Harvard-Westlake High athletes have made oral commitments to four-year colleges, according to Athletic Director Gary Thran.

Running back Don Donester and girls’ volleyball player Lindsey Powers have committed to Princeton. Kicker Matt Sebree, also a member of the boys’ volleyball team, will attend Colorado.

Scott Garson, a member of the baseball and basketball team, will attend Washington.

Other Harvard players who have made commitments include water polo players Peter Kiefer and Ryan Flynn (California), tennis players Lindsay Wasserman (California), Ania Bleszynski (Stanford) and Phil Tseng (Harvard), swimmers Ron Scott (Cornell) and Alexis Larsen (USC), volleyball players Seth Rodsky (California) and Court Young (UCLA), golfer Eric Shortz (William and Mary) and track athlete Jordan Elias (Yale).

Basketball

Cecily Brewster, a 6-foot-2 freshman center for Valley College, has signed a letter of intent to attend Oregon. Brewster averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds last season and was honorable mention All-Western State Conference.
