Costa Mesa’s Miller Giving Up Duties as Athletic Director

Share

Myron Miller, who coached Costa Mesa to the Southern Section Division VIII football championship game in his second season, has advised the school administration that he will not return as athletic director next year.

Miller cited the need to raise funds for the football program, and that--coupled with the position as athletic director he held the past two years--consumed too much time. He also said, “there’s a conflict of interest if you’re A.D. and coach of a major sport--your motives are always questioned.”

Miller plans to coach football until his children, now in fifth and sixth grade, graduate from Costa Mesa. He also volunteered to help with the school’s wrestling program because he will have time freed up from his administrative duties.
