Fullerton 8, Orange Coast 4--Host Fullerton had 11 hits, seven for extra bases, in a victory that stopped a seven-game losing streak. Ryan Wilson had two triples, and Dan Bergmann and Jon Gardiikis had two doubles each for Fullerton.

Riverside 16, Rancho Santiago 4--Mel Motley had a three-run triple and a two-run double for host Riverside (30-9, 17-6). Jason Minici had a home run for Rancho Santiago (31-11, 14-9).

At the State swimming championships:

Orange Coast leads--The OCC men’s and women’s teams have opened leads after the first of three days of competition at Cypress College. The Orange Coast men had 175 points and Golden West (130) is second. Matthias Otte won the 200 individual medley in 1:52.50 and teammate Grant Ferguson was second.

The OCC women have 167 points and Saddleback (98) is second. Deborah Baham of OCC won the 100 individual medley in 1:02.37.
