The match was never close as Santa Barbara won five of six first-round sets. Santa Barbara (25-0) clinched the match by the second round, leading 12-2 at one point.

The Dons got three singles victories from senior Nathan Jackmon and freshman Adam Webster and also got three victories from the doubles team of Jimmy Walker and Ian Carrera and Jason Yardi and Travis Logue.

Dana Hills finished at 23-1.

“Playing at home would have helped. But the way we played today wouldn’t have mattered,” said Dana Hills Coach John Stephens.

“I thought our kids might have given them a little too much respect. They played like they were intimidated.”
