The body of a woman who had been shot “multiple times” and left in the back seat of a parked car has been identified as that of 23-year-old Sherri Cabaccang of Los Angeles, police said Wednesday.

Cabaccang’s late-model Ford Mustang had been parked in a commercial lot near Westmont Drive and Euclid Street at least since Sunday, Sgt. Steve Rodig said. Someone finally notified police about the car on Tuesday and the body was discovered.

“The body was in the back seat, out of view,” Rodig said. “We believe she was shot at the same location where the car was found. It is unknown how long she had been inside of the vehicle.”

Rodig said police have no suspects and have not established a motive.

“We still have a lot of work to do on this case,” Rodig said. “We don’t know much” about Cabaccang, who lived in Los Angeles’ Harbor City section. “We are still contacting family members and trying to determine a motive for why this may have happened.”
