Tidland Finishes Second in City Golf

Chris Tidland, a former Valencia High School standout, shot a final-round 70 to finish second at the Long Beach Men’s City golf championship Monday at El Dorado Golf Course.

Jeff Sanday of South Pasadena won the tournament by shooting a two-under-par 70 on the 6,474 course. He had a three-day total of 209. Tidland, who plays at Oklahoma State, finished at 211.

Scott Richardson of Laguna Niguel, who started the day tied for the lead with Sanday, shot 75 and finished in a four-way tie for third at 214.

William Yanagisawa, who played at UC Irvine before transferring to Stanford, shot 72 Sunday to finish at 216. Brian Shearan, formally of Pacifica High School, also finished at 216.

Aki Amaya, who played on Saddleback College’s State championship team, finished at 218.

Kemp Richardson, the father of Scott, won the Mid-Life Crisis flight with a total of 216.
