Lee Loses Title by One Stroke

Fullerton’s Jenny Lee finished second at the Optimist Junior World golf championship Friday in San Diego.

Lee, playing in the girls’ 15-17 division, shot par 74 and finished a stroke behind Shauna Estes of Orangeburg, S.C. Estes made a 10-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole at Torrey Pines North for the victory.

Lee and Estes were tied going into the 16th hole, where Lee three-putted and fell one stroke behind. Lee pulled even on 17, but missed a 15-foot putt for birdie on 18.

Estes had a four-round total of four-under 292; Lee finished at 293.
