O.C. AIR: Quarterbacks from Orange County will make their presence felt in the Pacific 10 Conference this year. Three starters and two key reserves played high school football here. A series beginning Sunday in The Times assesses the area as a breeding ground for top quarterbacks and looks at the three starters--Steve Stenstrom (Stanford, El Toro), Rob Johnson (USC, El Toro) and Danny O’Neil (Oregon, Mater Dei)--and the potential stars of tomorrow--Tim Carey (Stanford, Los Alamitos) and Pat Barnes (Cal, Trabuco Hills).
