OUTLOOK

Because the Flames have made the playoffs in six consecutive seasons, won three league titles and one Southern Section championship during that span, you might think that all the boys at SCC would want to join the team. “You would think that because of the success we’ve had people would want to be a part of it, but it hasn’t turned out that way,” Esposito said. SCR, a school of 150, again has about 20 players on its football team, and again the Flames should be good. They already have started well; Buhler gained 248 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 42-0 victory over Maui Kaahumanu Hou. Wood, who gained 590 yards in the regular season, Smith, a transfer from now-defunct Life Christian in Downey, and Enda are also dangerous weapons on offense. Hamilton and Linfield should again be the Flames’ main competition in league.
