Orange County High School Football PREP EXTRA : Villanueva Nearly Perfect for Century

Century High quarterback Stanley Villanueva completed nine of 10 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns Friday night to pace the Centurions to a 33-7 victory over John Glenn at La Mirada High.

The 5-10, 185-pound senior hit his first five passes before throwing an incompletion, but Century didn’t miss much after that. The Centurions scored on their first two possessions of the game.

Beau Wallace, who finished with 55 yards in eight carries, scored on a nine-yard run. Villanueva then hit Jorge Rodriguez with a 24-yard touchdown pass with 23 seconds left in the first quarter to give Century a 13-0 lead.

Rodriguez recovered a fumble with 4:55 left in the second quarter, and, on the first play after the turnover, Villanueva passed 29 yards to Rolando Cortez for a touchdown. Cortez also caught a 35-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.

Wallace scored from seven yards out with 1:19 left in the first half for a 27-0 lead.

Glenn didn’t get its first first down until the 6:05 mark of the second quarter. And the Eagles didn’t complete their first pass until midway through the fourth quarter.

Rodriguez led Century in receiving with three catches for 62 yards and a touchdown. Jose Caravez finished with 47 yards in nine carries for the Centurions.
