ROUNDUP : Cal Lutheran Freshman Hitters Come Out Swinging, Get Sweep

Freshmen outside hitters Jennifer Pappas and Megan Falde had six kills each to lead Cal Lutheran to a 15-10, 15-6, 15-11 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s volleyball match Tuesday night at Thousand Oaks.

Pappas added five service aces to lead the Regals (10-6, 2-0 in conference play), who won their sixth match in a row.

Moorpark d. Pierce, 15-4, 15-5, 15-2--Kelly Farner and Tami Vailancourt had eight kills each to lead the Raiders (3-1, 2-0) in a Western State Conference victory.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Sylmar d. Wilson, 15-0, 15-6, 13-15, 15-6--Mayra Ariza had 12 kills and six aces and Deanna Turner added nine kills to lead the Spartans (3-0).

Canoga Park d. Marshall, 15-12, 7-15, 15-4, 15-11--Liz Vasquez had 14 kills and Claudia Castaneda 32 assists for the Hunters (3-0).

L.A. Baptist d. Calabasas, 15-2, 15-3, 15-12--Tracy Jenesen had six kills and four aces for the Knights (6-0).

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Agoura 17, Royal 1--Ann Gustafson and Jennifer Donahue ran their season record to 15-0 in doubles matches to lead the Chargers (6-0, 3-0) to a Marmonte League victory.
