Brentwood Foils Faith Baptist in Battle of Unbeatens, 34-18

In a matchup between unbeaten teams, Scott Fagan rushed for 96 yards in 19 carries, including touchdowns of two and 42 yards, to help lead host Brentwood to an easy 34-18 Delphic League victory over Faith Baptist Saturday afternoon.
Brentwood (7-0, 2-0) put the game out of reach in the second quarter, as Fagan contributed his second touchdown, and running back Rico Saken chipped in two more scores within less than 6 1/2 minutes.
Saken finished with 95 yards in four carries. His touchdown runs were of 54 and 32 yards.
Faith Baptist (6-1, 1-1) scored with seven seconds remaining in the third quarter on a 44-yard run by back Rani Zahr.
Zahr finished with 16 carries for 122 yards.
Faith Baptist quarterback Judd Granzow completed seven of 19 passes for 59 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown to Tywane Patterson.
The Contenders’ other score was by safety Robert Escalante, who returned an interception 35 yards with 10:24 left.
Brentwood quarterback Chris Malcolm scored on a 19-yard run, and kicker Phil Fagan was four-for four on extra-point attempts.
