Diamond Bar 36, Buena 28--Erik Stidham threw two touchdown passes and ran for another as the Brahmas (8-3) won at Ventura High.

On the game’s first play, running back Scott Williams took a pitchout, cut to the left sideline and raced 70 yards for a touchdown. The Brahmas opened a 13-0 lead early in the second quarter when Stidham connected on a 63-yard scoring pass play to Spencer Oborn.

Trailing, 19-7, Buena (6-3-2) appeared to regain the momentum by marching 80 yards in 12 plays to open the second half, capped by a nine-yard scoring pass from Glenn Dudley to Brock Smith.

Buena had a chance to take the lead after Eric Stewart intercepted a Stidham pass on the next series, but a fumble stopped the drive.

After the turnover, Diamond Bar scored 17 points in the third quarter to lead, 36-14. The Brahmas’ last touchdown was a 62-yard bomb from Stidham to Jason Marrero. Stidham finished eight of 13 for 213 yards.

Buena scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to make the score close. Dudley completed 12 of 26 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown. Buena’s Chris Carr led all rushers with 95 yards in 16 carries.
