OUTLOOK
With the transfer of Capistrano Valley Christian into the league, it will not be easy for St. Margaret’s to repeat as league champions. The Eagles were the only team St. Margaret’s lost to last season. The Tartans graduated only two starters from last season’s squad and they return seven lettermen. Trette, a first-team all-league selection, returns for her junior season after leading the team in scoring last season (11-point average). Lock will look to Trette to open up the inside game with her outside shooting. Freeman will need to put the ball up more under the basket and improve her scoring from last season, when she average eight points. Lock hopes his team’s pressure defense will force turnovers and get the Tartans running in a quick transition game.
