COLLEGE ROUNDUP : San Francisco State Defeats Southern California College
Kevin Carlson of Southern California College scored 21 points but San Francisco State beat the Vanguards, 73-68, in a nonconference men’s basketball game Friday at SCC.
Carlson, a junior forward, made eight of 14 from the field, including two of four three-pointers. Chris Kostoff, from Irvine Valley, added 14 for SCC (4-4). He had four three-pointers.
Lawrence Williams scored 28 for San Francisco State. He made 12 of 19 shots from the field and also had 11 rebounds. Carlos McLean had 15 for San Francisco State (4-4).
In the Pacific Christian Invitational:
La Verne 109, Pacific Christian 14--Margi Ramos scored six points for Pacific Christian (0-7) in the first round.
Leslee Rogers scored a game-high 23 points for La Verne (1-1), which outscored Pacific Christian, 63-0, in the first half.
