PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Chandler to Start Again Sunday

Although quarterback Chris Chandler failed to inspire the troops, Coach Chuck Knox said he will start again Sunday against the Bears in Chicago.

“I don’t see any reason to change,” Knox said. “Chandler had the misfortune of having seven balls that could have been caught. He made two big throws for touchdowns.”

Chandler completed 18 of 34 passes for 199 yards.

Why not give Tommy Maddox a look?

“We’re going to play these last two games to win, with the best people that we have,” Knox said.

Knox was asked which Rams merited Pro Bowl balloting attention this week.

“I want to think about that a little bit before I answer,” he said. “If I answer that right now, I might leave off a guy or two.”

At day’s end, Knox was still thinking.

Linebacker Chris Martin will probably be sidelined the rest of the season because of a calf injury, but linebacker Henry Rolling, who has been sidelined with an eye injury, is expected to return.

Defensive end Gerald Robinson will see a doctor for a chronic neck problem.
