Dean, a 6-foot guard, made several keys plays last week. But none was bigger than his blocked shot with two seconds left in double overtime to secure Golden West’s 66-65 victory over Victor Valley in the third-place game of the Cypress tournament. He had 14 points, four assists and five steals as Golden West upset Santa Monica, 76-73, in the first round. In the game against Victor Valley, he had 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
