Esperanza Safety Hector Plans to Attend Texas
Esperanza safety Anton Hector, a Times All-Orange County first-team selection, said Thursday he has made an oral commitment to play football at Texas.
The 6-foot-1, 172-pound Hector had six interceptions last season and was an All-Sunset League selection.
Hector, who will major in business, said he chose Texas because “it’s a good program and they showed the most interest from the start.”
Hector is also a standout hurdler and sprinter on the Esperanza track and field team. He is the cousin of former Texas A&M; and New York Jet running back Johnny Hector.
