The Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ African American Vicariate will host a Martin Luther King memorial prayer breakfast Jan. 16 at 9 a.m. in the parish hall of St. Bernadette’s Church, 3825 Don Felipe Drive.
The event will feature a “soul food” breakfast, music from the Transfiguration Children’s Choir and an address by Father Charles Andrus of St. Brigid’s Church on “Nonviolent Social Change: Myth or Reality?”
The breakfast marks the first time that the Southland’s black Catholic clergy are commemorating the birthday of the slain civil rights leader, said Rev. Fisher J. Robinson, vicar of African American Catholics.
Information and reservations: (213) 251-3435.
