Rodriguez is Santiago’s top offensive player, leading the team in shots (60), goals (nine) and assists (eight). “She’s a smart player,” Coach Kit Snider said. “She can size up a situation very quickly and she doesn’t stand around waiting for anyone else to do the job.” Last week, Rodriquez set up each of the Cavaliers’ three goals. Thursday, she assisted Brandi Owen’s goal in a 1-0 victory over Edison, which put the Cavaliers alone in first place in the Sunset League. Tuesday, Rodriguez had two assists in a 2-0 victory over Westminster in another league game. Rodriguez is a two-year starter.
