SOCCER ROUNDUP : Santa Margarita Easily Beats Irvine, 6-1

Chon Kantikovit scored three goals as Santa Margarita, the top-ranked team in Orange County, beat Irvine, 6-1, in a Sea View League boys' soccer game Monday at Santa Margarita.

The Eagles are 15-0-2, 2-0-1 in league. Brian Peisner, Matt Eberle and Shawn Saunders each added a goal and Seth George had three assists for Santa Margarita.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 2, Cypress 0--Kenny Simons and James Ramos each scored one goal and Mark Zubiate recorded five saves to lead host El Dorado (9-3-1, 2-0).

Bryce Brunsting had eight saves for Cypress (10-3-3, 0-1-1).

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 2, Savanna 0--Tim Albrecht and Andy Wirz each scored a goal for Brea Olinda (8-3-4, 2-0-1).

Philip Fritscher had three saves for the Wildcats.

In Freeway League girls' soccer:

Sunny Hills 2, Sonora 0 (OT)--Kate Foster and Jenni Cunningham scored in overtime and freshman Sunny Nicholas had four saves for visiting Sunny Hills (6-9-1, 2-1).

In Golden West League:

Ocean View 8, Saddleback 0--Kimberly Engesser scored three goals for Ocean View (11-1-2, 2-0).

Jacqueline Knebel had one save for the sixth-ranked Seahawks.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Aliso Niguel 3, Costa Mesa 0--Cindy Johnson had a goal and an assist for host Aliso Niguel (11-2-2, 2-0-1).

In the Sea View League:

Irvine 1, Newport Harbor 0--Kristen Wede scored in the second half for fifth-ranked Irvine (12-2-2, 2-0).
