COLLEGE BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Moorpark Muscles Up, Downs Two Opponents

Pat Queenan was four for five with eight runs batted in as Moorpark College defeated Cerritos, 8-1, and L.A. City, 15-1, during pool play of the Western State Conference Victory tournament Saturday at Moorpark.

Adrian Harris had three hits and Aaron Whitley homered for Moorpark (5-1) against Cerritos. Queenan, Gabe Kapler and Scott Miller each homered in the rout of L.A. City. Kapler also had a double, single and five RBIs against the Cubs.

Harbor 7, Valley 5; East L.A 2, Valley 1--Jorge Dorado hit a three-run home run for the Monarchs (0-6) in a pool-play game against Harbor in the WSC Victory tournament, then picked up his second loss after surrendering two runs in the first inning against East L.A.

Dorado struck out six and walked two in six innings, and his brother, Juan Dorado, pitched two innings of hitless relief.

Valley catcher John Shellabarger had three doubles in three at-bats against Harbor, and added another double against East L.A.

East L.A. 9, Canyons 8; Harbor 9, Canyons 5--Shane Petralli had seven hits, including two doubles, for Canyons in pool play of the WSC Victory tournament.

Canyons (2-4) had 18 hits and left 15 men on base against East L.A. in a game shortened to eight innings due to a time limit.

Oxnard 11, Porterville 2--Armando Carillo pitched a six-hitter with 12 strikeouts and four walks for the Condors (4-1) in a first-round game of the Porterville tournament.

Adam Basua was three for five with an RBI for the Condors, who outhit the Pirates, 14-6.
