Facts and Figures: Fullerton’s Robert Echavarria hit .473. . . . Buena Park’s Greg Cabral hit .348 with six home runs and 16 stolen bases. . . . Troy’s Kevin Gray was 5-3 with a 2.75 earned-run average. . . . Sonora, which returns seven starters, and Sunny Hills, which returns six, are co-favorites to win the league. Sonora’s Junior Rodriguez hit .367 and was 4-5 as a pitcher with a no-hitter. Sunny Hills’ Josh Hochgesang hit .400 with 15 stolen bases. Lancer Ryan Puckett is expected to be the league’s top pitcher. . . . Buena Park’s Timmy Jones, who hit .458 and stole 27 bases, is ineligible, but might return for the last month of the season.

Troy lost to Covina Northview, 8-6, in the first round. . . . Fullerton’s Ryan Golisano was named the league’s player of the year. Golisano led the county with 12 victories (12-1) and had a 1.21 earned-run average with 76 strikeouts.
