Cerasuolo, from Tustin High, started his college career at Rancho Santiago but found many pitchers ahead of him. So he left for Orange Coast. Against Cypress March 22, he pitched a three-hitter as Pirates won, 4-0. He struck out four and walked one. He enters this week with a 3-1 record, an earned-run average of 2.75 and 22 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings.

* Saddleback, sophomore. He had two hits in each of the Gauchos’ games last week to increase his hitting streak to 12 games. He made it 13 with a hit Monday.
Jenny Lopez
Cypress, Sophomore
Softball / Utility
Cypress started last week in a three-way tie for first. Thanks in large part to Lopez, from Tustin High, the Chargers now have a one-game lead. She pitched a three-hit shutout, and had three hits, including a triple, as Cypress picked up a 2-0 victory against Fullerton, which dropped a game back. She reached on a error after a bunt and scored a first-inning run as Cypress took over first place with a 2-0 victory over Rancho Santiago Friday.
Swimming
Brandy Wright
* Orange Coast, sophomore. She won the 200-yard individual medley, the 100 individual medley and the 200 freestyle as Orange Coast beat Rancho Santiago and Saddleback.
