Rancho Alamitos has hired Cal State Fullerton student David Jankowski as its girls’ basketball coach. He replaces Pete Pyle, who was fired after two seasons.

Jankowski, who graduated from Kennedy High in 1992, was that school’s boys’ freshman coach the last two years and was an assistant in the program while a student at the school.
