ORANGE COUNTY ALL-STAR FOOTBALL : Footman Leads Lineup as North Team Named

Six members of The Times’ all-county football first team have been selected to play on the North team in the 36th Orange County All-Star football game, July 14, at Orange Coast College.

Esperanza’s Dahrin Footman, who will play for Nevada Las Vegas this fall, gained 1,852 yards and scored 24 touchdowns last season. He will be joined on offense by Sonora’s Jason Grain, an offensive lineman who will attend USC, and Canyon wide receiver Greg Jacobs.

On defense the North will be led by three first-team linebackers: Villa Park’s Tony D’Amato, Los Alamitos’ Dax Houston and Chris Young from Rancho Alamitos.

The North will be coached by Esperanza’s Gary Meek.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. game are available on a pre-sale basis for $6 at county high schools or $7 at the gate. Proceeds will benefit local charities, high schools and youth groups.
