San Clemente Trips Mater Dei

SAN CLEMENTE — Robert Frith pitched his second complete game of the season and Paul Anderson drove in two runs as San Clemente upset second-ranked Mater Dei, 4-2, in a South Coast League baseball game Wednesday.
Frith (4-3) struck out four and held the Monarchs scoreless until Mike Waugh homered in the fifth inning.
Anderson singled in runs in the second and third innings to help the Tritons (10-8, 4-4) build a 4-0 lead.
Sophomore Mike Kolbach (6-2) went the distance for Mater Dei (13-4, 6-2), giving up five hits.
